Respect Nature

(You are nature)

I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder
for a moment while I was hoeing in a village garden,
and I felt that I was more distinguished by
that circumstance than I should have been
by any epaulet I could have worn.

-Henry David Thomas (1817-1862)

Nature is the only perfection. Evolution and Mother Nature combine their efforts to produce perfect forms.

We are like the butterflies who flutter for a day,
and think it is forever.

-Carl Sagan

Nature has taken billions of years to prepare the world for her children, all life, and what seems like a long lifetime to us is but a birth and a death to Nature.

Whatever befalls the earth
befalls the sons and daughters of the earth.
We did not weave the web of life;
We are merely a strand in it.
Whatever we do to the web,
We do to ourselves.

-Chief Seattle (1788-1866)

Suquamish (Native American) Leader

We all grew from Nature, safe inside our warm mother,
and in the end, we fall for Nature. It is a cycle, ever turning
as the new grow old, and pass away to make room for the new again.
We are part of Nature, blessed by her in our own way.
Whatever we do to hurt her will come back to us,
even if it be indirectly, to our children.

Today Nature is not appreciated as much as she deserves.
Too little do we look up from our daily rituals and realize the beauty and wonder of the world.

Try it yourself!

Go outside and look up at the sky and the trees and the rocks!
